Events Policy

Event organizers must comply with the following guidelines when creating events on Event Parlour:
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful event information
- Use appropriate event categories and tags
- Include clear event descriptions, dates, times, and locations
- Upload high-quality, relevant event images
- Set appropriate ticket prices and availability
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Obtain necessary permits, licenses, and insurance
The following types of events are prohibited on Event Parlour:
- Events promoting illegal activities or substances
- Events that violate intellectual property rights
- Events that discriminate against protected groups
- Events that promote hate speech, violence, or harassment
- Fraudulent or misleading events
- Events that violate our Acceptable Use Policy
3.1 Organizer Responsibilities
Event organizers must:
- Notify attendees as soon as possible about cancellations or postponements
- Update event status in the platform promptly
- Process refunds according to the event's refund policy and applicable laws
- Provide alternative arrangements when possible
3.2 Platform Support
We will assist in processing refunds and notifying attendees, but the primary responsibility lies with the event organizer.
4.1 Pricing Transparency
All ticket prices must be clearly displayed, including:
- Base ticket price
- Platform fees (7.5%)
- Payment processor fees (if applicable)
- Total price paid by attendees
4.2 Price Changes
Organizers may change ticket prices, but:
- Already purchased tickets are not affected
- Price increases should be communicated clearly
- Price decreases do not entitle previous buyers to refunds
4.3 Ticket Availability
Organizers must accurately set ticket availability. Overselling tickets is prohibited and may result in account suspension.
Organizers may modify event details, but significant changes (date, time, location, major content changes) require:
- Notification to all ticket holders
- Option for attendees to request refunds if changes are unacceptable
- Updated event information in the platform
6.1 KYC Requirements
Organizers must complete KYC verification before withdrawing earnings. This includes:
- Identity verification
- Business registration (if applicable)
- Tax identification
- Bank account verification
6.2 Withdrawal Process
Withdrawals are subject to:
- Minimum withdrawal amounts (e.g., 500 KES or equivalent)
- Processing times (typically 3-7 business days)
- Withdrawal fees (if applicable)
- Hold periods for new accounts or large amounts
6.3 Payment Schedule
Earnings are typically available for withdrawal after:
- Event completion
- Payment processing completion
- Resolution of any disputes or chargebacks
Organizers are responsible for ensuring they have the right to use all content posted in their events, including:
- Event images and graphics
- Speaker information and photos
- Event descriptions and marketing materials
- Music, videos, or other media
We reserve the right to remove content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
Organizers must ensure events comply with:
- Local health and safety regulations
- Fire codes and venue capacity limits
- Accessibility requirements
- Age restrictions and ID verification
- Alcohol and food service regulations (if applicable)
- Security requirements for large events
Event Parlour charges a platform fee of 7.5% on all paid ticket sales. This fee:
- Is deducted from the ticket price before payment to organizer
- Covers platform maintenance, payment processing support, and customer service
- Is non-refundable except in cases of platform error
- Is separate from payment processor fees (Paystack, Stripe, M-Pesa)
Violations of this Events Policy may result in:
- Warning notifications
- Event removal or suspension
- Account suspension or termination
- Withholding of earnings pending investigation
- Legal action if necessary
